Wednesday June 25th, 2025 

9:30am-11:30am: Historical Heritage Tour

 The tour includes Place Stanislas and Place de la Carrière and allows you to measure the imprint of the last Duke of Lorraine on the city. The charm of the Old Town, medieval and Renaissance, is revealed through its architectural gems but also its good addresses, small terraces, cafés… Some highlights of Lorraine’s history: the ducal palace, the private mansions, the Porte de la Craffe, the Saint Epvre church… with a visit to the interior of the Porte de la Craffe.

2pm-4pm: Visit to the Museum of Fine Arts

Alongside Caravaggio, Rubens, Delacroix, Monet, Modigliani and Picasso, many painters from Lorraine are exhibited there: Claude le Lorrain, Emile Friant, Victor Prouvé, Etienne Cournault… The Daum collection will allow you to discover 130 years of production from the iconic Nancy manufacturer. A permanent space is also dedicated to Jean Prouvé.

 2pm-4pm: Nancy 100% Chocolate Tour

On the menu of this new gourmet tour of Nancy, come and discover the history of chocolate! Do you know how long we have been consuming chocolate in France? How was cocoa powder invented? What are the virtues of chocolate? Discover the stages of its manufacture, from the cocoa tree to the bar. These cultural anecdotes will be punctuated by 5 gourmet breaks at artisan chocolatiers in the historic center of Nancy: the opportunity to discover chocolate in different forms! Specialties will be offered to you for tasting at each stop.

Thursday june 26th, 2025 

 

9am-12pm: Visit to the Villa Majorelle and the Musée de l’Ecole de Nancy 

Villa Majorelle : The work of architect Henry Sauvage, this magnificent residence was built for the artist Louis Majorelle and his family. Located a few hundred meters from the Musée de l’Ecole de Nancy, it completes the visit and sheds light on the incredible creativity of this era

Musée de l’Ecole de Nancy : Located in the former property of Eugène Corbin, patron of the Ecole de Nancy, the museum and its garden recreate the decorative and plant atmospheres of the time. The works of Emile Gallé, Eugène Vallinet, Louis Majorelle, etc., bear witness to the diversity of techniques (furniture, glass art objects, stained glass, leather, ceramics, textiles, etc.)

2pm-4pm: Art Nouveau/Art Deco tour in the heart of the business district followed by a snack at the Brasserie Excelsior

With nearly 1000 years of history, Nancy is full of curiosities and well-hidden secrets, and yet right under our noses! And you will discover that Place Stanislas still has many secrets to reveal to you... Let yourself be guided through the streets of Nancy, for an unusual and curious visit!
