Abstract Instruction and Submission

All presenters, including invited speakers, should submit an abstract.

 Abstracts must follow author’s instructions and will be submitted no later than May15th
The abstracts submitted by non-invited speakers will be evaluated by the scientific committee. The selection of presentation type will be notified on May 30h by e-mail to the corresponding author.

The presenters will be invited to submit an article in a special issue of Biochimie, which is an International Journal of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology published under the auspices of the Société Française de Biochimie et Biologie Moléculaire. More informations are available in the website

The best poster/flash communication presented by PhD students will be awarded by a Prized sponsored by Cobalz Ltd, upon selection by a Jury chaired by Dr Andrew McCaddon and Pr Natalia Krupenko.  

Instructions for authors

Abstract must contain no more than 400 words (including title, author names and affiliations), using letters of 11 characters per inch (Times New Roman).
Please use MS Word for Windows version 6.0 or above and type the text single spaced, justified, with no paragraphs or indentations. Do not use tables, diagrams, graphics or figures in the abstract. 

  • Title: The abstract title should be brief (no more than 200 characters), specific, and should not contain abbreviations. Use bold font. The initial letter should be capital, the rest lower case. 
  • Author names
    • Authors name should start with their initial(s) without period, followed by their second name. Authors' names must be in plain font and separated with coma. 
    • Please underline the presenting author. 
    • Affiliation: department, institution, city and country of all authors should be mentioned (no country abbreviation before ZIP code). 
    • If there is more than one affiliation, please add superscript numbers to each author name and precede each affiliation with the corresponding superscript number. Run on and do not start a new line with a new affiliation. 
  • Abstract: In order to make the abstract as informative as possible, please stratify with the following headings: background, objective, design, results, conclusions and acknowledgement. 
  • Abbreviations and nomenclature: Please use standard abbreviations only. If you use non-standard abbreviations, please spell out the full word at first mentioning and insert the corresponding abbreviation in parenthesis, after then use the abbreviation consistently. Concerning biochemical terminology and abbreviations such as those of enzymes; please follow the rules laid down by the IUPAC-IUB Commission on Biochemical Nomenclature. 
  • References: The abstract must include only 1 reference, if directly related with the data. This reference should appear at the end of the text in accordance with the Vancouver style.
